Send me your player conf file/directory and I'll put it up on my server
(my email is mikeeusaaa osijdg0iujwoijrgoijweoig @ soigoisjoigjoiejg yahoo.com ).
(Note: people here can testify as to your player stats if that is an issue to other players).
or you can work your way up as a newbie again (good challenge after awhile of being powerfull).
The choice is in thy hands.

I think that mybrklyn's player info is on metalforge.
Though if I could send my player info to multiple servers, I would.

Bull. DMs are called on all the time for things that are not "complaints". If players don't act like spoiled teenagers or preteens (IOW just follow the rules, kid) then DMs pretty much leave them alone.cavesomething wrote:The only reason that the dms are complained to is because they do so much and keep getting in the way.
Interfering ... right. Yet, I see many complaints that DMs are always idle on metalforge and one can seem to never be able get a DM when "needed".cavesomething wrote:IMHO anything that stops dms interfering is a good thing, and when they stop interferring then they will no longer be asked to interfere.
Oh yeah, I also see people asking for DMs to setup and run special DM quests for things. Interfering ... right.
Leaf, do not change a thing.

Yes, and I was one of those asking, however I was asking in the context of something to be done /instead/ of policing the whole time.poof wrote: Oh yeah, I also see people asking for DMs to setup and run special DM quests for things. Interfering ... right.
A well formed system is one which is stable on its own, outside interference is a bad thing, and should be kept to a minimum (and yes, I do want player constables at some point, so that gaoling is a power acquired within the game).
I disagree with your premise that DMs on metalforge are "policing the whole time". They are not. That is your opinion, not fact. DMs on metalforge only get involved in "policing" when rules are violated. Other than that the DMs are usually helping players in one way or another.cavesomething wrote:Yes, and I was one of those asking, however I was asking in the context of something to be done /instead/ of policing the whole time.
In D&D type games the DMs DO make the rules, that is the nature of the genre. Players in every D&D game I have played do not get a vote on the rules the DM(s) set(s) up. I like that. It is a Good Thing. If one wants a server where the players make the rules ... go make that server. Just don't expect it to be crossfire.metalforge.net. =)

As is that, just because something is an opinion does not make it valueless, if it did then there would be no such thing as medical consultants for a start. The problem is that you fail to make the distinction between opinion and 'informed' opinion. I'd like to think that I have spent enough time on MF to fall into the later catergory. What I will grant, is that my statement was a form of rhetorical speech, as should be infferred from the sentance structure.poof wrote:I disagree with your premise that DMs on metalforge are "policing the whole time". Sure, but they /do/ get to pick the dm who makes the rules. Players on metalforge do not. D&D games act more like a representitive republic in that if enough players decide to change the dm, then he will be changed, if the dm is annoyed by that, that is his problem.poof wrote: In D&D type games the DMs DO make the rules, that is the nature of the genre. D&D games do /not/ normally have the players start playing and then have some random dm appear and take over unless it is by the request of the players .
If you want to have a similar situation on MF then there would need to be some form of player-based approval of Leaf's minions. Maybe if they were elected then it wouldn't be such an issue, but right now, that isn't the case. There isn't even a list of who the dms /are/ and you do /not/ get that in a game of D&D, so your analogy is bogus. Please retract it.

I've seen this happen in the following ways..cavesomething wrote: Sure, but they /do/ get to pick the dm who makes the rules..
DM posts/announce/etc. that they are looking for X players to join in a campaign/session/module/etc. of some genre/setting/world/etc. and players join.
Players organize and delegate responsibility to a person to become a DM for their campaign/session/module/etc. of some genre/setting/world/etc.
A person in the players "group" volunteers to become the DM for their campaign/session/module/etc. of some genre/setting/world/etc.
The Metalforge server is very similar to the first option I have listed.
Sticking with the D&D analogy..cavesomething wrote: D&D games act more like a representitive republic in that if enough players decide to change the dm, then he will be changed, if the dm is annoyed by that, that is his problem.
Some of the player(s) in the group don't want to play D&D using the DM house rules and how the DM is running the campaign. However, they are using the DM's books, dice, miniatures, table, parent's basement (
