It makes logical sence, however the game is not balanced unless there is either a way (even if a difficult one) to get around it some how OR other races are given similar weaknesses (now that I think about it, elves and trolls have such weaknesses too, but to a much lesser an less obvious degree.)Mikeeusa22 wrote:No. A dragonbane is the BANE of dragons! It kills you guys. That's just the way it is.

Troll players are vulnerable to slay_troll weapons (ex: sting) and holyword of Lythander
Dragon players are vulnerable to slay_dragon weapons (ex: dragonbane)
Fireborn players are vulnerable to holy word of Ixalovh
Elf players are vulnerable to holy word of Gnarg
Wraith players are vulnerable to slay_undead weapons (ex: katana of masume) and all holy word spells
Update: As far as a way to avoid being attacked by weapons that slay your race - have a really good AC.

Very true, except that dragons and fireborne (however who actually follows Ixalovh?!?) can't fight back with their own slaying. (not counting banish/holy word. Which is extremely limited in terms of killing other player chars, as few players are follow devourers and very rarely will you be lucky enough to be against an opponant who happens to be an enemy of your god)leaf wrote:Some of the other races are given a similar weakness.Rednaxela wrote: It makes logical sence, however the game is not balanced unless there is either a way (even if a difficult one) to get around it some how OR other races are given similar weaknesses (now that I think about it, elves and trolls have such weaknesses too, but to a much lesser an less obvious degree.)

Yes, true, but a dragonslayer of devourers with a skilled wielder generally has a VERY high WC, so that's pretty darn difficult in that case...leaf wrote:Update: As far as a way to avoid being attacked by weapons that slay your race - have a really good AC.

That works no better on humans than against the others. In terms of slay stuffs, humans are VERY overpowered.leaf wrote:Followers of Devourers - attack_type: deathAaron wrote:as i said, claws of slay human

So, humans who start out with no spell path attunements or penalties, or resistances of any kind, a random skill or two, no stat enhancements, max ability scores of 20, and do not again abilities as they level (ex: ac improvement with their level) - have one feature or aspect that works in their favor!?!

Btw. I think I know what I'll do about all this! I'll be a Quetzalcoatl!

I wish I knew... It's very good for pyro (fireborne like), no slayability. Very much like dragons with no food resists, fire immuneity, and not slayability.cavesomething wrote:apparently quetzl used to be the preffered choice of race not so long ago, don't know why it fell out of favour though....
btw. what body slots do they have for weapons/armor?
