Slay abilities and Depleation against player chars
I don't know if this behavoir is intended or not. but due to the interaction to the slay dragon ability of a Dragonbane of devourers and the depleation attack type, Dragon players can be depleated in the arena by it even if they have +100 depleation which I think is rather unfair. Not exactly sure if this is a bug or not, but I certainly don't think it's fair.
The only problems is that it's unfair with depleation against player chars unless there becomes a way to get +300 resist to depleation. It makes dragons instantly at a very serious disadvantage in the arena if your opponant know about that strategy... and now that I think about it, troll players (enchant a weapon that normally has depleation to Lythander) also have such a disadvanage, but not quite as big. Even if this is'nt technically a bug, it's a overly harsh disadvantage to dragon PCs.
Drain and acid corrosion arn't intened to happen, but as I understand, depleation is allowed in the arena as it technically is'nt permnenent as a life potion will fix it. For that reason I always either use a ring of life, or follow a god that gives +100 depleation whenever I duel, but this dragonslayer is a very nasty suprise for dueling dragons, and it makes it almost impossible to win against as it's stat depleations will quickly make you rather helpless.Aaron wrote:its also permanant, which is the biggest problem i have. effects in the areana arent supposed to be permanant i thought?

Yes, but the problem is that there is no way for a dragon to equip properly against a foe who uses a Dragonbane of Devoureres. The only way around that is carrying around 50 potions of life for a singal battle, which simply is'nt practical. There needs to be some sort of way for a dragon to equip against a Dragonbane of Devourers.cavesomething wrote:To be fair that is to be expected, someone who equips against his opponent should win, even if there is a reasonable level difference.

granted, but that should make both players weak against a 'standard' set of equipment. Maybe dragonbane needs more disadvantages, like 100% drain, -100% depl, -100% anything else dragons can't effectively attack with.
Maybe a cloak of humanoid form? makes effective race be [random-nondragon at equip time], and is destroyed if it is taken off. (can this be done?)
It would mean a dragon could stuff someone trying dragonbane, but might make them banishable. (or troll slayable)
The point is that two players equiping against each other like that. should lose and lose badly to a 'normal' character of around the same level, even with both fighting at the same time.

That would be a disadvantage to the dragonbane, but it would'nt help the situation with dragons having no way to battle against such a weapon.cavesomething wrote:granted, but that should make both players weak against a 'standard' set of equipment.
