No, if it is a player, a walk just in front of a grate, is needed.

Anyways, the form I am thinking of wouldn't cross untiled map exits. so ducking into and out of a building should lose the tail.

Smart. It would make it easier to train secondary chars.

hmm, I don't see how it would be easier, all secondary characters need to do to train is party with the first one and go onto the same maps.

Following only two squares behind is likely to get them killed....

Depends on how you do it really...

Something like that can already exist in a script form. You could even make it follow across map boundaries.

Yes, but saying you could write in a script is one thing, new players don't tend to run scripts, they are the ones who would find the greatest use for it.

As it is you could in theory run frozen bubble as a script, even have it mapped to a key. I would however at that point consider that maybe you are not any longer playing crossfire.

/me has a rather sick idea tentatively calling itself CFWM.....

:D I think that a player avaliable follow command would be a great idea, just so long as there's an easy way for a player to stop others from following.

*thinks of people going around is large trains that look like dance lines :P*

I think you should beable to follow someone across exits.
The way you could loose someone is close a grate and have if the followed player gets X tiles away then you lost him.

X maby being 20 or so?
