since 2008 there is a lot of time passed by. I've almost forgot to work with my idea of adding new gems. SInce there are many bugs I've created unintentionally, I'm changing my strategy:
first I introduce my thoughts, then asking for help (i.e. correct scripts, files etc.) and finally do the uploads after testing.
So first my ideas:
Using gem for collecting/storing wealth is only one aspect in this game. Some alchemical formulae are using some gems to raise certain stats of Armour and (?) weaponry.
Suggestion 1:
Since there is the skill jewelry, it could help also to raise the experience in this field, if the gems are unidentified when to be found.
Yet there is no chance to convert small gems into larger ones, if this is to be introduced it should not be that easily.
Suggestion 2: Allowing the artifacts "Great Value" and "Flawless Beauty" to be made via jewelry (on the corresponding workbench) via a formulae
i.e.
Ruby of Great Value = 100 rubies + 1 Improvement Potion
with a chance of 50% for skill level jeweler >= 15
The formulae is not to be found in shops, but in a suitable dungeon.
When fighting dragons etc. the gems are yet instantly identified just by looking at them (i.e. rubies

Suggestion 3: Introducing new types of gems, just as Hercynite, Carbonados etc. most of them having less value than the original ones.
As for the carbonados (in RL extremely rare, black diamonds); they could be more valuable.
Since there are some restrictions above about the crafting, introducing some worthless artifacts, first to be identified and second to be de-cursed could be an additional kick.
Suggestion 4: Adding new artifacts for gems, using cursed/damned flags, thus not to be found in shops. E.g. artifacts:
Strass (cursed, face of normal gems, rare, 1/10 value when uncursed)
Talmi (cursed, face of artifact great Value, rare, 1/10 value when uncursed)
Tinnef (damned, face of artifact Great Value, very rare, 1/20 Value when undamned)
One additional suggestion (after watching Diablo

Suggestion 5: Adding new artifacts with new faces for just a couple of gems, like Triangular, Square, Hexagonal in order to raise eventually specific stats of weapons/armour/arrows/bolts/rings
That far for my suggestions, in the meantime I'm trying to read me through the vast changes since 2010.
What do You think: are they worth a second thought?
Please be patient, if I'm not responding immediately.
Yours sincerely,
Stephan-Alexander Heyn
