Class/Race Hatred/Fear, and other ideas...(alignment)

Bare with me..

One thing I haven't seen in Crossfire is the battles between different classes and races... I'm sure Paladins, for example, hate anything undead.. I'm sure knights hate dragons... etc.. etc.. etc... :)

Why, for example, won't there be bonuses and penalties when certain class/race fights monsters of certain other class/race? I think, as an example (from above), a Paladin would get bonuses against the undead and anything unholy (demons), but get penalties when fighting other creatures (like Wizards, kobolds, elementals, etc), and a knight would get bonuses against dragon-type.. but he may fear the "other" races, like demons and undead and magic-type (like wizards), and get penalties for fighting those? :o

I think along with the above suggestion, we need to add alignment to Crossfire.. So possible use of this would be, as an example, a guy with evil alignment would get bonus against good aligned creatures, and penalty for same-alignment creature...

Also would allow to have alignment-restricted equipment... so you couldn't have an ubber-whatever player... Too many people wearing too much of the same stuff.... what's the point! :?

By the way, why can't dragons wield weapons and shields? They do have hands and arms and can grab things.. perhaps they need items a bit bigger.. but there should be shields and weapons for dragons, maybe very rare...... 8)
..another one..

Can you imagine a dragon with a dragonslayer.... Me neither.. a weapon should have penalties against certain classes.. Any holy weapon used by an evil aligned person would do that person harm, rather than good.. A dragon slayer wielded by a dragon would hurt himmm, a lot (high negative regeneration?)..

Just a couple ideas...

I agree on that, this can be useful to diferentiate races a bit more

Here I deeply disagree.
Alignment rapresent how a character act, I personaly don't think that to be evil I need a line with it written somewhere.
Allignments are for pice of cake roleplayers :D
Let's roleplay at a professional level. A char should be free to do wethever he wants, is that good or evil or.. just in the middle and in his interest :D

I like the idea dragons can't use weapons and armours, maybe there can be a quest where a dragon can get _one_ mithological dragon armour. But since dragons are not so common, I don't belive a smith will start producing dragon armours to augment his buisness.

Yes here I agree, undead with a holy weapon or such things should be penalized. Not bases on alignment (that I dont like to have) but on powers and stories around it. Those will make item stories more part of the game.
Example: Ring of Elrond, created by Elrond an elf mage that hated dwarfs, so dwarfs can't use it, or have penalityes with it. This restriction is imbued in the ring magic!!
Now the story of the ring is important since it imposes restriction on it's use.
