Thanx and...

Post by SuMo »

Well, to keep you from being annoyed. This is my last thread and post.
Sadly I communicate with coders that aren't openminded, only "OpenSourced".

I though I could bring some gfx to the game, but got no help from you.
You always reflected back to either cynism or malicious comments in how a poor coder I am, which is true. But spend my energy in people locked up inside a closet and not able to be social in a forum and speak in a friendly tounge is waste of time. Code the game, do your own gfx/sfx.
Don't invite poeple and call it 'OpenSource' when, it's only in the coders point of view, comments are allowed to be written.

Personally I can't help you promote this game cause of the fact the community rejects help.
Instead of helping people you redirect fresh newcomers to places, instead of educate them into you own philosofies and what's about the game and its world.

You have a great load of education left regarding promotion skills!
I haven't the time to educate myself in the code.
Together we could've done something.

Thanks Hoxi, showing me the real truth about OpenSource...
I learned a lot from you.

/Bye...

ps. I consider you admins to delete my statements and profile within a week or so...There's no point in having them in this forum....

Lo SuMo.
Here to say that I did not really like this your last post.
You demoustering one thing to me: that I wasted my time on you.
I tried to explain something you did not get at all and I'm quite sure it's not why I explained it bad, at least not so bad.
I have to ask you please to not name opensource in vain, take it as a comandment, of witch you demouster of knowing nothing and you did not get even a bit of the spirit of it. I'm sad about this :(
I don't have to say much more.
It look like I cannot trasmit you anything about the open source philosopy and about open source in general.
Before replying I just thougth that it was my fault, but now after thinking a bit to what to write you, I undestand that all this thing was only a game for you. A game to play with our precious time, to gain some attention, that probably you dont' get in other places.
Maybe you simply dont' want to undestand a new philosopy. That's my main thougth.
Sorry to make a so sad post, and I excuse if I have been offensive, but actualy looking at you is like looking at my precious wasted time.
Bye

Most active users of this board are not coders. And I wish you could explain in detail what you mean by saying "not openminded".

I don't remember giving any comments referring to how poor coder you are. As a matter of fact, I offered help by explaining some things.

I agree. But I think there's always possibility to learn something from those unpolite people.

Could you rephrase that or explain it in more detail?
SuMo wrote:Personally I can't help you promote this game cause of the fact the community rejects help.
This is not true. People - including me - may have posted negative/flammable replies, but then again, those replies were hardly more unpolite than yours.
SuMo wrote:Instead of helping people you redirect fresh newcomers to places, instead of educate them into you own philosofies and what's about the game and its world.
You were told to study the documentation. If you were not able to read you wouldn't be here asking for help. So what's so difficult in reading the documentation and making use of what people have been working on?
SuMo wrote:You have a great load of education left regarding promotion skills!
Don't we all? There's always possibility of learning new and growing.

People are willing to help you if you explain to them what you want and get players to support the idea.

First of all, marking a group or philosophy by experience what you have of a couple of people is totally wrong.
SuMo wrote:I learned a lot from you.
Likewise. As usually, I learn by interacting with people. I hope I will have use for the knowledge later in my life.

Two points:
- There are no other true GFX-maker (except AndreasV), so we cannot provide help on GFX-specific stuff;
- You asked technical details about the game, and you got them. No one ever refused to supply informations if he/she could.
You always reflected back to either cynism or malicious comments in how a poor coder I am, which is true.
I don't remember having done such comments... Besides that, it's not the policy to reject people just because they're not coders. There are people in the project that are not.
But spend my energy in people locked up inside a closet and not able to be social in a forum and speak in a friendly tounge is waste of time.
Thank you for trashing everone here so. I really appreciate that.
Personally I can't help you promote this game cause of the fact the community rejects help.
We rejected the idea of making Crossfire a 3D game. We also rejected the idea of making the Win32 platform the preferred development way. I don't remember having rejected other proposals recently.
Instead of helping people you redirect fresh newcomers to places, instead of educate them into you own philosofies and what's about the game and its world.
Mmm... I think I (and others) provided clear answers to questions you asked. If those answers didn't fullfill your expectations, then there's nothing more I can do.
You have a great load of education left regarding promotion skills!
I tried to provide help, and I got insults in return. Is it your way to educate people to promotion skills ? Probably a new technique.
I haven't the time to educate myself in the code.
Did I asked you to learn coding ?
Together we could've done something.
That I'm less sure after reading that.
ps. I consider you admins to delete my statements and profile within a week or so...There's no point in having them in this forum....
Oh, that means you'll not even care about my answer. Good thing to hear. Next time, I'll spend my time to more productive things.

So I correct:

- There are no other true GFX-maker (except AndreasV and Avion)

(and maybe I forgot someone else too...)

May I violently express myself ?

I am NOT an artist !!!

Thank you for your attention.

(Let's just hope true artists here will not feel insulted by the comparison with me - we really don't want to turn them angry, do we ? :P )
