Serversettings

I'm playing on my own server but some settings doesn't change when I change the settingsfile. The settings that doesn't work are the ones with true/false values.

I've changed the permadeath to off and 0 but it still says "load_settings: Unkown value for metaserver_notification: off" and "load_settings: Unkown value for metaserver_notification: 0"

sry... I changed the metaserver_notification and not permadeath

Look in your settings file and make sure it says:

metaserver_notification off

Notice no colon (":") after notification

My motd file doesn't work either...

It was false/true when I downloaded the server. I tried with off but it still keep saying load_settings: Unkown value for metaserver_notification: off

Which OS are you running the server on?

Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, IRIX ?

Windows but the problem is fixed now... I used a textprogram that didn't work for some odd reason. I think that it was pretty much the same like it uses a different entercode than notepad or something...

Glad to hear it is working as expected now.

So, in summary:

When editing the settings file under Windows, be sure to use a text editor such as Wordpad in order to prevent format problems (or problems along that line..)

Note: edited/corrected - replaced Notepad with Wordpad
