How about a Xorn like creature.
Basicaly it would be a "dragon" like class, but where you eat armour, weapons, amulets, rings etc for your resistances.
Maybe even get temporary attacktypes by eating swords.
ex. eat a sword with attacktype weaponmagic. You get that attack type untill you eat somthing with a new attacktype.
and if it has more than one attack type , only one is selected at random.
It would only eat metal items for food points not organic foods.

Seriously, this does seem like a cool way to limit the degree to which the insanly powerful items get stockpiled. The balancing for this would reqiure that this race would be unable to wield items (I think probably completly). Could make the game really hard if you also banned rods....
Wierd. VERY wierd. But I think you've got something there! As opposed to a character carrying around food [most players carrying around food, dragons carrying zombie corpses/steaks], this character would most likely carry around a good supply of small shields and swords
However, there's one thing we haven't specified on. Will spells work normally for this char, will it have a special way of casting, or will it not be able to use spells at all?
Insofar as this is likely to reduce the massive stockpiling of items that I (and others) engage in, it is likely to be a good thing for the game's economy.
Besides the Goblin TC isn't worth bothering with above lvl 10.
Heh. I give you full points for creativity. I can't say we need another unbalanced race. Dragon already dominates MF.CF.net. This Xorn thing would need serious drawbacks.
How to degrade Xorn:
Potions won't work for them.(maybe improvement or stat will or a percentage chance to fail for all potions)
No weild weapons
No wear armour
No wear amulets
No wear rings
Must eat metal armour/weapons/etc otherwise no improvement
Eating organics/leather/cloth is poison
