win98se, gtk-client 1.60, random crashes while moving

Post by Zoltan »

playing on metalforge.real-time.com

I can play, walk, fight, do everything, but the client crashes
about every 5-15 minutes with different "general protection fault" or "invalid page fault" errors.

e.g.:

GTKCLIENT caused an invalid page fault
in module LIBGDK-WIN32-2.0-0.DLL at 018f:00872b8b.

GTKCLIENT caused a general protection fault
in module DIBENG.DLL at 0004:00001316.

GTKCLIENT caused a general protection fault
in module <unknown> at 0000:00000939.

seems to be connected to gtk+?

Most likely. While I am unable to give a solution to this I suggest you use the DX client if you play on servers with the old skill system.
