Frustrated in Pupland

Post by Tuidjy »

I am starting to get really frustrated with Pupland's 'dungeons'.
No matter which one I enter, I invariably get stopped cold after
being made well aware that there is more to see.

The conjurors' dressing room, the watch tower, the tower of ordeal,
Hell, even the newbie training rooms. It is painfully obvious that
there is something hidden, but whether a password needs to be
spoken, or a spell to be cast is unclear.

For example, in the tower of ordeal there is sign which says
'show invisible!'. Well, I cast show invisible, and nothing happens.
Am I using the spell wrong? How is it supposed to work?
And why the Hell does a dungeon populated with kobolds and orcs
require a fairly specialized prayer to enter?

So I am asking for spoilers - how does one advance in the four
dungeons listed above? I want to see what the solution is, before
I decide to put more effort in solving these maps, or conversely
decide that they are not worth bothering.

Have you read through the online map summaries?

Some of them are spoilers, others are walkthroughs, some are subtle hints.

Pupland is very difficult -- not necessarily in combat, but in the difficulty of the puzzles -- I can promise you they can be done, at least as far as I have gotten in pupland...

In the tower of ordeal -- if I remember correctly, show invisible points you towards a secret door.

Getting through the tower of ordeal will get you to nurnburg, which has more things to do.

When playing pup_land (which is very rewarding) be prepared to be stymied frequently. I can't count the number of times i've cheated by reading the maps in a text editor, and I'm still trying to get through pup_land, two months later.

The point of pupland is the exact oppposites of TC's. Pupland has a story, if not
maddening, while you can pop into a tc, gain some xp, and waltz off.
The storys of pupland are very deep, so your not alone in screaming in frustration....

I've passed the Tower of Ordeal...boss says go to Nurnberg...its not like he even says go talk to such and such...he just randomly sends you off.

So I've gone to Nurnberg...went to the top of the 4 towers and got the blue gem. Became an army man while helping the ninja in the basement...killed the sparring partner and put Lickmonds head on a spear...

So my question is...what am I really suppose to be doing there?
