Hi everyone im new to crossfire, my bro and i have been playing on a privite server for just me and him and we are having a blast! I love this game and just got my forum acount activated. Here are a few questions
1.I am a perl programmer, and was wondering if perl would work to script/program my server. (im sure it will becasue the server apears to use C and perl works with C).
2.Who created Crossfire and how long has it been around?
3.Is this game dead? I hardly see anyone on the public servers?
4.Can anyone give me tips on making a good server?
Im new, I got some questions

Crossfire's development history started in mid-1992. It originally started as a Gauntlet clone developed by Frank Tore Johansen at the University of Oslo, Norway.cokecoladrunk wrote: 2.Who created Crossfire and how long has it been around?

It is possible to use Perl - but results and support will vary greatly.cokecoladrunk wrote: 1.I am a perl programmer, and was wondering if perl would work to script/program my server. (im sure it will becasue the server apears to use C and perl works with C).
The server uses (mostly?) Python for scripting.
