Double text issue, gtk2 client & (k|x)ubuntu

Post by Leaf »

Posted an official bug report on the double text entry in the gtk2 client on (k|x)ubuntu

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cr ... +bug/87194

It would be helpful if any other users could verify or provide feedback on this bug as well. Thanks!

Summary:

Binary package hint: crossfire-client-gtk2

With packaged version of 1.9.1-1 and compiling from source, text entered in the client is doubled.

Example-
Enter your login name: MMyynnaammee

This is not an issue with the debian package of the same version, 1.9.1-1

I can verify the bug, but I can also tell you that the packages available from Gutsy don't have this problem..

I don't know what caused it or what fixed it. but the 1.10. version fixes it :)

Just a note for an update on this situation. A few weeks back on IRC, there was a user of Mandriva 2008.0, who reported this same issue with the 1.10 package there. This seems quite odd, how every so often, a distro has a broken build as such...
