Okay, I use Wolvix 1.0.4 Live Games disk on the Windows machine at home. Wolvix recognizes the high resolution moniter for other games, but when I use GTK -2 which comes on the live disk it messes up big time.
Okay, this should be simple. There is a Suse 10.0 machine two inches away. I've downloaded every version of a Linux client - and each one fails for a different reason. Joe tried them for me also with the same results.
The first one failed because of the lack of a support file. I found that file and installed it. I attempted to install the progam again and it tells me "Report=0" which looks like another failure.
On the CF version I get told that there is an unidentified reference in the make file.
It is too bad there is not a simple way to install this program. But this goes for alot of Linux software. Someone should automate the make process.
Okay any suggestions on how to get crossfire installed in Suse 10.0? I've got a true IBM 1.4 ghz processor, and I just use the onbard NVIDA card which seems 100% compatible with a GForce 2. I let it share 128 megs of ram for the video. I have 2 gigs memory. My sound board is a true sound blaster - don't remember which, but it was the lowest priced one and it fits a pci slot. Joe needed that for his ham radio.
BTW Joe (formally Middlemarch and my boss (and hubby) at the book store) says Hi.
Our customer and neighbor (close enough to use my wireless connect at home with a can-tenna) Tambour says "hello" He is in El Paso and goes to UTEP. University of Texas at El Paso. He kind of uses our book store as a study hall/ hang out. The tribe his parents are from were relatively unknown until the early 20th century even though his country was relatively well mapped. - Well, I'll let him tell you all the juicy details, but you can hardly understand a single word he says. He speak English and Spanish and his home language with very quitely with an almost gutteral sound.
And of course, I say "Hello Every one and the rest of you too."
If you have checked our website - our ceiling is back in place, but we are still losing a few books to mold. Oh well, I am chatty as always.
Obviously Windows 98 and Java are no longer going to cut it.

Leaave your Fret work to me.
The make process is automated. Which downloads exactly are you using? Are you trying to download binaries or the source code?
Also, "Report=0" and "unidentified reference" (it was more likely "undefined reference" you saw actually) are not very useful. It would be much more helpful in diagnosing the issue to have the full output.
