Server crash when talking to NPCs

Post by Xypher »

I just built a Linux version of the server from the latest CVS sources, but when I talk to some NPCs (for example: T.K., the cleaning person in the wizard's quest in Scorn, the people in the Goth's tavern, etc.) the server segfaults. I've noticed it only happens with NPCs that say something when you say hi and say something else when you say "legend" or "weapon". Any ideas?

EDIT: The core file and GDB say this is the problem...

Where did you download or get the files via CVS?

On 2006-Sept-19, crossfire moved to Subversion (SVN) and this issue has been (AFAIK) resolved there.

Oh... err... oops.

Sorry about that. I'd gotten so used to using CVS for Crossfire, I just typed the commands without checking. Sorry!
