Perhaps we could use the server program that Wikipedia uses (MediaWiki) for our Crossfire Wiki, since it has image upload and you can hide the WikiOfLore as [[WikiOfLore|Lore]] and it would appear as Lore, resulting in a much prettier wiki.
It also supports namespaces, so the Help page could go in the CFWiki: namespace, instead of the same namespace as the documents.
It runs on MySQL and PHP, and is found at http://wikipedia.sourceforge.net/
PR Scheme: These sites use it...
Another note is that users get their own page to post their ideas and each page has a talk page where people can discuss changes that a page needs, instead of needing a WikiBadge.
Ok, this is more food for thought... Ready, set, debate!!!

We really need an easy "edit this page" link on the Wiki's pages. Having to copy the URL and write "editform?page=Mypage" is silly not to mention unfriendly. I was also unable to contribute anonymously, which is by definition NOT a wiki. Is it a wonder few people have contributed? I don't want to register with Freezope, and I should not have to to use the wiki.
If Zope can support it, we should add these links and allow anonymous contributions. If not, MediaWiki would be MUCH easier to use IMNSHO since it supports an Edit this page link out of the package.

The wikis were anonymous and there was a edit button last time I looked - so I went and checked and sure enough the last freezope upgrade had reset the permissions - they are now fixed.EmperorBMA wrote:We really need an easy "edit this page" link on the Wiki's pages. I agree. Freezope is somewhat clumsy but I like the system wikipedia uses.EmperorBMA wrote:Perhaps we could use the server program that Wikipedia uses (MediaWiki) for our Crossfire Wiki, since it has image upload and you can hide the WikiOfLore as [[WikiOfLore|Lore]] and it would appear as Lore, resulting in a much prettier wiki.

Freezope is a free Zope hosting service. That is a free URL, free Zope CM services and free wiki for crossfire using Zwiki software. If someone wants to set up a host and install software and register a URL for a crossfire Wiki based on other software then by all means they can, but here is an existing system that works now and is pretty easy to use for the purpose of allowing people to collaborate on some text based information.
