What client do you use?

Post by bw »

Why does cf support so many clients? How much is still in use?
Whats the point of keeping support for older clients?

So: are there server statistics of who is using what client? Also let us know why you like to stick to your client, point out the good points.

GTK Client, Linux (for the majority of the time I am logged in) and GTKv2 Client, Linux on occasion.

On occasion, I also use the GTK Client when I'm using Windows.

No real rhyme or reason as to which client I use, other then what works best (IMO) on the computer I am currently sitting in front of.

A server admin can obtain the number of logins per client.

AFAIK, there is no way (at this time?) to determine what percent of which client the current player population is using.

For instance, someone who logs in & out frequently or drops the connection frequently will skewe the client count to whatever they are using.

I'd like to make one more shamless plug for native clients. would anyone be interested in doing this? im trying to hack anything together that would work on osx, but its kinda pushed to the side for now. and i know the windows client is a ... to install due to the gtk requirement. maybe touching up the clients in general to work better would get more people and make the game more attractive.
