could we use staffs and wands as weapons? i liked that in diablo, where applying a staff ot a wand will use it as a weapon, and give you the spell it has available. also someone (red or cave?) was making weapons be able to use spells, so a +2 quarterstaff of holy wrath would now be possible.wands should probably act like daggers, and staffs like quarter staffs. maybe also add some other staves or halbreds that could do more damage?
also can you recharge staffs or wands? that would be much more interesting...

I haven't tried the spell on a staff, so I'm not sure if charging works on those.

i would have suggested to leave them, but make them appear only from high monsters, like this big violet wizard.
Also they should be changed ino some other object (magical gem?), cause rod should stay normal wizards equipment.
Mew rods should work as in Diablo: increasing your spells level in single spell, path, type or overall, and of course other wizards thingies.
Example:
+2 Evokery
+3 cold
+2 magic
+5 sustenance
+30 sp
+4 icestorm
+30 cold resistance

Sounds like people might be grouping together wands, staffs, and quarterstaffs into one generic term - staves.
wands - usually wizard based spells
staffs - usually prayer based spells
quarterstaffs - weapon

wands: short small charge offensive spells
staffs: long bigger charge offensive, but slower and more powerfull spells. not for spamming
quarterstaffs: long wood things you hit people with
rods: most powerful spells, or a quick way to fire off alot of a small spell in sucession with no mana loss. (note small spells, not heavy rod of MS or banning.)

wands, few useless charges of spells, which will destroy your lootm, and give exp to useless skill, you can get 1000 after week
staves, some charges of less useless spells, but as they destroy loot, and give exp to wrong skill, you dont use them. You can have 100 after week.
rods, you can have 10 after week, but they are very good to get exp. Even if this exp goes to wrong skill, you can become lvl 40 after week, and you can get lot of stuff with rod of summon pet. Also, they give every chracter word of recall, show invisible dimmension doors, healing, banishment good fire spell and good ice spell. This makes every character is purely the same, because when it comes to pking, people just do "1... 2... 3.. FIRE!" and he, who clicks fastest wins.
