Correct Installation Procedure?

Post by Insomniac »

I recently switched computers, and downloaded Crossfire GTK client onto my computer... It worked fine, but I was away a lot over the summer hols and when I came back it was no longer working... So I made a big mess of things and finally deleted the whole "Crossfire" file...

I now can't even find where to go to download the .dll files.

This must be the only game I've ever played that needs a walkthrough for installing :P

It's not that hard really. Just follow the instructions here: http://crossfire.real-time.com/clients/ ... html#howto

Except that documentation is slightly out of date with the latest version that came out a few days ago.
Dowload:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/gimp ... p?download
and
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/cros ... e?download

And install in that order.

Tyvm I'll try that!

EDIT: "This application has failed to start because Libglib-2.0-0.dll was not found."

:? I remember from last time that I had to rename something... Just a second.

EDIT 2: Ok, I moved all the files from the "bin" folder into the main folder in which I had the client starter and it worked perfectly. Should this topic be stickied for future reference? :P

Thanks very much for your help! I couldn't find those two links :)
