New summon spell

Post by Arekusanderu »

"raise sentient golem", always cast over an item. If it's not it summons a very weak air elemental. Otherwise, the golem created has properties based off of the item(s) it was created from.

Say, you create a "Weapon Golem" out of a stack of weapons. Depending on how many weapons there were, the golem would have a large number of HP and cost a massive amount, or be small, cheap and weak.

It also works on all 25 squares (5x5 space with player in the middle) around the player, so he can summon up to 24 at a time. This would be very costly if they were strong; also they would act like pet monsters instead of golems.

However, when they pick something up, they add it to themselves, gaining all its coolnesses. This also sucks a little MP from the caster, so he can't make a golem out of an arrow then drag it over a stack of Smashers. When they die, their treasureset is the items used to create them and the ones it picked up.

Weapon golems aren't the only ones. Weapons in its makeup add dam bonuses plus any awesomenesses in the weapon, but more enchanted weapons cost more MP to make golems with. Armor does it with armor and resistances. Flesh and food add to HP, and special non-food non-weap/armor (like dragon scales/claws, beholder eyes, jewelry) give special powerful effects, like giving it spells, massive bonuses, etc.

Bulk (number of items) increases the golem's HP. So, creating, say, a key golem or a silvar coin golem would be a fun little venture, if you are strong enough it'll create something near-invincible.

Of course, the more powerful the item the more SP it costs to put it on the golem. The appropriate amount is drawn from the spellcaster at the time the golem picks it up. If the spellcaster doesn't have enough, it doesn't grab the item.

Whadday'all say?

I agree, and if HP and MANA combined arn't enough, then it would kill the caster

Umm, say he raises a weak golem to deal with some smaller monsters while he takes care of the big nasties in the dungeon, they pick up some of the awesome treasure, and he dies for no reason. This really could lead to a lot of stupid deaths if the golem steps on a big pile of treasure the caster didn't know about.

I thought the HP thing through beforehand and decided that not picking it up at all was better.

Aaron: A meteor SWARM golem would be difficult. Meteor golem, however... Just comet then raisegolem, Meteor turns into one helluva nastyman. And a suicide bomber too, when he dies the meteor comes out.

Fire golems, however, created with meteor swarm, would be very interesting. They'd prolly explode smallways when they died, like, 3x3 blast.

this idea is extremly similar to an idea i had. The main differnce is how many items can be used top make the golum. my idea ment that the golum had body slots like players do, such as head, finger, feet ext. so it could only have 1 wepion, 1 sheild, 1 boots, 1 body armor, 1 cloak, 2 rings, 1 amulet, and 1 spellbook that you put in, giving the golum the ability to cast that spell. if posible, I wanted it to be able to create different kinds of golums that have different body slots, such as a dragon golum or fireborn golum, and they only have the slots of what the dragon or fireborn players do.
so i really like this idea, i hope someone creates it. and i also agree with Aarron and Rednaxela, killing the player if its not enough mana and hp would be fun

No, not really. Especially not for the player. I mean, I could understand it at time of summoning for the golem, if you try and summon a bigger golem than you can make, but if it's too many one of them doesn't raise, and if the spellcaster doesn't have enough mana for them to add a piece on, they just won't pick it up.

lesser golem and golem spells? lesser golem just doesnt pick it up, so its not as powerful, but you cant get killed. golem picks up anything it can, so its more powerful, but easier to die from.

i think it should also only pick up items from its base element. like a rust golem only pick up armour and weapons, no spells. and a paper golem be a spellcaster, but no armour or weapons, so its fairly easy to kill.

The idea was to create a mishmash golem. Just throw whatever you want into a pile and make it walk. And make it so it won't kill you because of a pile of treasure you didn't even know existed, just maybe drain all your SP. You CAN create elemental golems, but you have to be careful what you put in. For example, weapons and armor make a rust golem, but throw in a spellbook and it's mishmashed. Use coins, gems and jewelry to create a shining golem, super-powerful and tough but only if you put enough stuff on it. And it can make lots of money if put on SAD and locked in Skelly TC.

Anyway, I've only found one good contribution here, the other stuff I could flat-out go into a rant about my conspiracy theory that you all hate summoners, but that's just because I've had a bad day.

yes, it is conspearcy(sp). they hate summoners. theyre working to fix that acctually. summoning hasnt been updated in a while. they were trying to add more pets and stuff. try breaking your spells up into catagories:

summon lesser junk golem -- if out of SP stop picking up stuff. else pick up anything in path
summon junk golem -- if out of SP take health, and keep picking up stuff no matter what.
summon junk elemental (?) -- takes the largest amount of stuff in the pile and makes it into a golem/elemental that only picks up that type of equipment. heres the rust/paper golems.

That sounds OK, except one thing to pickups with the junk golems: They can only consume a certain amount at a time. Say, if the value is 35, then it won't pick up anything that costs more than 35 SP or HP at a time. So, then it won't kill the summoner if it finds a big pile of cool things. It'll only do some damage, and if the summoner doesn't like how much it's picking up he has time to type 'killpets, before he dies. This can be a numerical value default to 20 that is given as a numerical parameter to the spell. 'invoke summon junk golem 35, for example, sets it to 35.
