Yes, use the "chat" command, and be sure to use the command "listen 10" first so you can here the chat channel. The "say" command also works if they are in the same map. For sending a message directly to a singal player, use the "tell <playername>" command. If you are in a party, then you can use "gsay" to send a message to everyone in your party.

that you mention puddles suggests that you are probably playing on cat2. Whilst this nominally has the most players on, there are a substantial number of bots and the other players that are there will PK you.
It is not a server that can really be recommended for a newbie. (although they can be funny
) your best bet to learn the game in relative safety is metalforge (the other server with lots of players listed, and the companion server to this board, most of the players there are real people.)
That you are receiving the response to tells that you are means that you are trying to talk to a bot.
Bots are used on several servers to perform certain functions such as kill logs or IRC interfacing.

Yes, it does sound like cat2, which is not the best newbie server for most people, and many if not most experienced don't seem to like it either.
Cavehippo: Heh, yes the IRC interfacing bot I made, haven't had a chance to run that lately due to my wireless network issues lately preventing my main computer from getting internet access.

I don't know... most players that play there (on Cat2) seem to like it enough.Rednaxela wrote:Yes, it does sound like cat2, which is not the best newbie server for most people, and many if not most experienced don't seem to like it either.
