Thought only of a newbie starting position which could be bypassed to access regular game (scorn navar or anything else). Not 3 different newbies world (one is already lots of work)
No, I mean Newbie world would be beginner, Scorn would be regular and Navar would be advanced starting position. Players after choosing a class would have the option of choosing one of these three starting positions.

- a some more low level maps (level 1-5 ish maps which are not 'newbie maps' or necessarily easy maps)
- low level shops to support players
- temples or at least altars for all the gods to support worship
- banning magic form the city streets (?)
about magic banning, perhaps a better idea would be an non player versus player area. But that need code in server.
Not big on having a non PVP area, that seems to be another topic entirely. There is now code for friendly fire and this can be set on a per server basis (default is reduces damage to 5%). If there were to be a real code for to stop PVP outright it should be a server setting too.
No magic is a good option for Scorn, and if Navar is a starting area it is likely no magic in city streets would be good there as well (it was done for a reason AFAIK). I don't think it is too oppressive and it prevents a lot of problems. It certainly fits in with a governance philosophy - large cities would likely purchase a magic control system for their city streets if it was available.

Except some non-offensive spells are just too nice to not be able to use'em...
Dimensional door, for one, is useful to cross the city fast.
Word of recall is nice to get home, specially if it's not in the same town.
And prolly a few other spells, too..

Well I see most people currently visiting Scorn have no problem ducking into the City hall or some such locale to cast spells or put portals. For Navar perhaps a park could be slated for this purpose as well as all the other nooks and crannies people would otherwise use.

It's a bz'ed tarball with maps for a training house and a _very_ large town.

I wouldn't mind adding the training house with a few modifications (like removing the save beds). But the Cocoon world is huge and empty - I can't see it being a part of the game for some time.
In the meantime I would like to add this training house to a _little_ newbie map as a starting option for newbies with a sign suggesting that if you have not played before go here. The newbie map will be small (two or three buildings a couple signs) and exit out back onto the start location map again so you can continue on to either Scorn or Navar. There are currently to my knowledge two beginner houses in the game and two proposed (this one and the one from the mudman adventure recently submitted) - This should be enough material to build a good and comprehensive newbie area which would train people in the game but not be a place where you can get too many levels. Training and providing a protected area for levels 1-5 are two seperate issues IMHO.

Sorry for missing .tar.bz2 extension on map files dunno what happened :/

And yes , early basic training and newbie world is something separate. I did work on both since concerned newbies
