The server will crash if you don't have a maps directory, have invalid permission on it (not a concern for windows). I would check that it's where crossfire is expecting it to be and that the maps are there

I figured it out, you don't connect to local host. Instead, you have to type in your IP address (well, I did anyways). But thanks for the help guys.

I do have another question (lol go figure =P). When creating playerhouses, how is it possible to save the contents on certain tiles to your... I think it's var/unique-items folder? On the main site in the survival handbook some guy says he did it but doesn't say how :\.

Also, how do I give DM access to myself and others? I havn't been able to figure this out, even with the guides. -.-

Thanks much,

You tried localhost (one word), right?

http://crossfire.real-time.com/commands ... #dm_access

Example:

JoeK:topsecret:*

Translation:
Player JoeK can obtained DM mode with the password 'topsecret" ('dm topsecret) from any IP address.

So I'm supposed to add another line on the dm file without a # in front and type in for example:

JoeK:topsecret:*

and then when I log in using that name I have dm capabilities?

Correct

Not quite.. you have to enable dm access for this character after you login on the server.

'dm topsecret

Similar to when you want to use talk to another player

'say hi

Bah sorry, but I have another question that I asked before:

How is it possible to create a map that saves players' dropped items even when the server goes down? I would really like to know since I am creating player houses.

I tried making a map and every floor tile had unique set to 1, but I dropped some items there, shut down the server, and came back and they were gone -.- .
