Uncursing items

So, I've managed to uncurse items that I'm using. But there doesn't seem to be a way to uncurse things you can't wear or wield, like potions or food. Is there any way to do it? Or am I out of luck?

Depending on which god/cult your character follows and their level in praying.. one can have curses removed from potions but I don't know about food or other items.

By praying on an altar (over and over again) of many of the gods (except devourers) and having the cursed items in your inventory - a remove curse will be applied to this items eventually.

Everything gets uncursed from everything...

Lythander / Gaea / Mosrai does this... probably a few more

Devourers do not get this.

Might be nice at some point to make high level uncurse scrolls capable of uncursing a marked item.

Oh, and is there a reason that the bed to reality and the magic gates in my apartment is damned?

Yes. It means that you will log in at that point. Damned just means if you log out or your client crashes there, you'll appear back at that damned point.
Also, you can't cast spells on damned ground,

would it be worth it to damn a couple squares around the save beds in apparmets, so people stop casting spells on themselves in bed?
