well, i just found some stuff, theres already spells on permadeath servers for resserecting other players, shouldnt be hard to implement on other servers? start by adding this to summoning and have it bring back a golem with a random undead face pulled out of skeletons and zombies? then just modify the stats based on summoning level?

Whilst the two are logically similar, the differences in the way the structs are handled means that some code changes would be needed anyway - probably to the extent that you would want a new spell type.

I'm inclined to think instead that the proper way to do this would be to mutilate the summon pet monster spell, make all flesh have a key-value pair 'generating monster' added when they are created, and then use the monster to pick the right thing from the treasure lists.

This could even lead to multiple different necromancy spells, all with their own advantages and disadvantages.

eg:
raise ghost
all ghosts have very good ac, and low dam, with a ghosthit attack.
low level creatures - poltergeist - a new creature that can be very weak
low-mid level creatures - ghost
high-mid level creatures - spectre

raise skeleton

raise zombie

all with treasure lists to scale against monster level.

trivially command undead would also be a necromancy spell

The necromancy spell book should be either black or (dark)purple. Should I make the archtype?
