Hi,
I really want to run a localhost crossfire server but can't compile the CVS source (I don't have Visual C++).
I know there is one for download at http://www.theperlguru.com/crossfire/ but it doesn't work. I downloaded the zip and the crossfire32.exe file is corrupt within the zip archive. Even after trying to recover the file it didn't work.
Any help with a precompiled Windows server, or a Makefile for GNU C compiler, would be really appreciated!
Thanks,
Eriwal

Well, i successfully compiled the server under Windows, except that Python doesn't work...
So casino for instance will crash your server.
Also some things may be broken that i haven't detected.
I can try to compile the latest CVS, but lack space to host it, could someone provide it?
As for python, i know some ways to fix, though too lazy right now to do fix it...

SF does have upload area, yeah....leaf wrote:Hmm, I thought Sourceforge had an file upload area. Either it has been (re)moved or I am mistaken.
How much disk space is required?
But i'm not part of CF's development team, thus i don't have access to that area.
As for space, if only the server executable itself is required, around 1M (zipped, of course). If full server (with directories & such), obviously more...
Ryo, thanks for compiling the server for me!
I've setup a geocities Yahoo website to upload the files to. It's just a dud account for storing the files.

The website has 15 MB of disk space. I'm not sure what files are required to run the server, but if there are a lot of them I can download them from the CVS. Mostly I need the windows binary since I can't compile it myself right now.
Thanks for this, being able to explore and learn on a localhost server will help me a lot. Right now I'm leaving my corpse all over the metalforge server because my client crashes every time I get into a serious fight!

I would suggest contacting each other via email or private message on here to reset that password. I'm sure you don't want just -anyone- uploading content to that web area..Eriwal wrote: I've setup a geocities Yahoo website to upload the files to. It's just a dud account for storing the files.

Ahh, famous last words.. usually spoken right before:Anonymous wrote:..so it's not something other people would bother to use.
"Why is my Internet connection so slow?"
"What happened to all my disk space?"
"Hmm, I can't seem to login anymore.."
"Why did my ISP disable my account?"
"AUP - what about it?"
