dont ever remember this being brought up before, how hard would it be to implement?
also how do you prevent people like seagreen/yugi from using two of their super-enchanted swords of death to all non-humans...? some item power magic? that only applies when the skill is in affect? and a new skill, or just add this to two handed?
dual weilding?

Dupe!
A number of issues, problems, ideas and recomendations with dual wielding were made in this thread:

You bring up one of the original concerns about a weapon combination power(s).
As far as restrictions..
Well, 2 handed weapons are 2 handed weapons; IMNSHO, that eliminates a number of artifact weapons from ever being part of the dual wield equation.
Yes, item power would still apply.

I'd like to see theses...Aaron wrote: seagreen/yugi from using two of their super-enchanted swords of death to all non-humans
if you consider 2 hands=2 (one handed) weapons, why not 2 shields or 2 rods ?
I will fear ever more some monsters with 2 attacks instead of one...
well to continue that thread, it would seem like a new weapon class, two handed was made. also a skill for this. this class would include things like dual katanas and knives that are marked as two handed for an added bonus, and non-dual weapon things would get a penalty. this could end up with even bigger changes like just getting rid of one/two/dual weapronry, and just depending on your strenght is how many weapons you can use... that would be interesting, and might be easier to code, and then just need a strenght factor on all the weapons, plus there weight. that makes it so a bulky ogre-barbarian might be able to dual weild two one handed swords, while a elf sorcerer might only be able to hold one short sword, or 2 knives... then ironicly the problem might end up solving itself. toss that around, and try to pick out the flaws in it. i think theres a bigger reason why this was passed over that came up on the mailing list...

You also could change a few names in the arches, for example make them all heavy katanas that are wieldable with one hand. Only weapons that are light enough, keep in mind, can be used with the left hand. You're not gonna put a broadsword into both hands, it's just too useless and inconvenient. I COULD see this implemented as a weaponspeed penalty.... But anyways, the point is, make a wapon arch the sprite of which contains two swords/tomfas/qatars/other exotic weapons which come in pairs, and make them two-handed.
You could also do the one-in-each-hand, with a slight overall speed penalty rather than weapon speed penalty, with shields. That would be very nice for monks.
