I was thinking of moving the maps to an /easier/ to reach area, one that would be accessible at fairly low levels, without the (intended) need to battle dire wolves. Somewhere like the centre of navar say.

How about I put in a Portal Booth that gives a one way portal to Scorn that low level players can use for a small fee? If a player is smart enough to find the dragon transport (no, I do not think it needs moving) to Brest then the player should not be punished by being unable to leave Brest. Perhaps a magic mouth warning in the dragon transport would be a good idea as well.

Perhaps it would be better to remove the dragon flight path to brest or require someone have an artifact from brest to use it (perhapse someone should make a new quest in brest for this artifact)?

you go to Brest by dragon flight, scorn appart teleporter or by foot if you can do it.
the problem is that you can't go back if you don't have WOR and can't do it by foot.
don't move dragon hangar, just put more of them near towns.

town portal won't get him out unless he first has a portal somewhere else - same problem with recall if he gets it now.

Only wait out right now is to get a lift from another player/dm or to cross the mountains.

Is this on your local server or on a public one?

Actually I have plans to do that. But Brest is sortof a "special case" which needs more consideration.

This is on a public server (games. something .pl). There are rarely any players on when I play, but I've now reached level 37, so if I just could find some potions of cold resistance or some rings with cold protection, I guess I could try to get out of there. I've managed to enslave the dire wolves with my superior charm, but I've not yet dared to face the nasty ice storm generators... :-)

Btw. is it possible to destroy the ice storm generators?

No, though some of the monsters there do cast icestorm, and those are destroyable of course.

Also note, resistance potions bring one's resistance up to 95%, regardless of your cold rings. So unless you can get above 95% without any potions, then those rings won't help while using the potion.

I'm still wondering why you don't move to metalforge :-)
