need help setting up a server on windows XP

I had to create the Directory /share/crossfire by hand also.
What is it needed for? I never noticed any errors related to it's not being there.

Big thank you again for the help in getting a local server up for my friend and I.

For one, your maps (or a link to your maps) goes here. Also all the arch files, treasure files, bitmaps, artifacts, race material and formula files, help files... pretty much all essential game playing stuff. I would think you might get some real errors if it this directory was not there... nothing would work AFAIK.

I do have the share directory it was creted at built time.
share\
share\arch\
share\help\
share\maps\
share\plugins\


but didn't have the share\crossfire\ Directory
I thought that was what you had meant.
