Spoilers Defined

Post by woo »

It might be worth saying what a spoiler is somehwere around here - I've had players in game not know what it meant, and it would suck to have someone read something in here that ruins a quest for them.

the traditional definition is something which would normally be discovered, such as a point in a story line or a password or some such thing.

so typical examples of spoilers:
Soylent green is people.
Darth Vader is Luke's father
Kint is Kayser Soze
The apes were on Earth all along
Sinclair is Valen.

Haven't we always had apes on this planet, and who suggested otherwise? :D

not to mention that there are minor and major spoilers.
Minor:
The Idaten boots are in pupland
to
Major:
They are in /insert/map/name/here

No, a major spoiler would be: to get the Idaten boots, go there, then there, then do that, ...

Giving the map name is useless unless you know how to get to it :)

Here's my definitions
Minor:
The Idaten boots are in pupland

Medium:
They are in /insert/map/name/here

Major:
They are in /insert/map/name/here. Once you get to that floor, to get them <blah blah blah about the golden axe>

Very Major:
They are in /insert/map/name/here. To get them <walkthrough of the whole shining tower>

Also IMO, minor ones would be fine in most cases in all fourm areas so long as they're not overused. However the medium to very major ones should stick to this section.

The Golden Axe is in the tower.
You can be a low level, just as long as you have a really good DD and charm.
And also, dont open any doors that might give you unprotected treasure. You might get sworded.
