Flying arrow bug

Post by Arekusanderu »

Has the arrow-levitation glitch been duly noted and added to patchlist? You know, the one where an arrow hitting a flying character will knock them out of the air?

If not I'd love it if it would already.

Well, let's take a dragon. A big one. Now, he's flying through the air, slaying goblins, and one of their arrows grazes him (as is so often printed in the flavor messages).

Why did he just crash so violently to the earth?

In your experience, does this only apply the the levitate ability of dragons?

Is it just arrors or any damaging attack?

I wonder if this also happens when people have the levitate spell cast on them?

What about something like boots of levitation?

It only applies to the skill. I've messed with it on my server, and it's because of the way the invis inventory (skills and the like) refreshes. I couldn't fix it though because I don't know C.

See, when skills refresh, they unapply unless they actually take up a skills lot. That's how stuff stays equipped and clawing stays readied (for example).

how come dragons cant fly and attack at the same time? i dont believe you need to take off your boots each time you want to kill a monster. and also if you try to apply a sign while leviating, it prints out that it cant read it twice.

Dragons CAN fly and fight at the same time, just do use_skill instead of ready_skill. Also, that's a real minor glitch. If you push "a" while flying, it says the error. If you try to apply (by clicking maybe), it gives the error. Standing on something applyable and pushing "a" satisfies both triggers, so it prints twice.

thanks, didnt know that.

is there any easy way to fix it? like setting an error var, and then printing the results after it checks everything? so it can only have one or the your flying messages in it?
