Are you (overall) level 2 yet?

That's a requirement for saving a character/player file.

The requirement is actually any non-zero amount of xp, the commands you want to use are
skills
and
statistics

which show the information that you want.

Yes, as cavesomething said, it doesn't need level 2, just non-zero amount of xp. The best way to get some exp is just kill something, if your just worried about saving, then just killing even one little monster will be enough
