well seems like the thieving issue is being ressurected. some n00b started a character as a thief, and is taking everyones items.
it is against the MF rules: http://www.metalforge.net/rules/index.html
but DMs arent on at all times, so what do we do before the theiving problem gets patched? its ruining gameplay, and i think this is going to ressult in a massive PKing.
the players name is 'thief', and it would be nice if something was done soon, and since its in the rules, i would like my scrolls back.

Well, I think a good option would be having in-game "city laws" that arn't as all powerful as DMs, but activate upon stealing etc. that happens in cities that they're in. Perhaps it should also send online DMs a notification message upon activation in case. Also, I believe that this would be welcolmed on both servers with and without stealing allowed, because it allows realism on the stealing-allowed servers, and curbs the noob theif problems on no-stealing servers. And if a server admin was strongly against it, it doesn't even take a recompile to fix, as it could be done in a python script were it would be possible to make it so DMs can disable it in-game.
This idea has been brought up in other threads in the past, and I personally think it is a good solution to the problem that aaron is bringing up. I also believe this might be a good topic to bring up in the mailing list as that is where many discussions on possible changes happen.

Or how about allowing the victim to pk the theif.

This is not correct: only worn and god-given items cannot be stolen. But locked items can be stolen, it is not even harder to steal locked items than unlocked items.Rednaxela wrote:One thing that helps against stealing, is locking your items in your invintory, because those can't be stolen. If you use item locking frequently usually stealing attempts on you won't actually get much
