What is up with the keyboard layout for moving. It doesn't make sense to me. The numpad and the arrow keys are fine, but this:

really confused me. I thought it might be dvorak, but it isn't. It definately isn't a german layout. I'm sure there is a really good reason...help me understand it

That's the "cursor movement keys" used in vi (the text editor)

also, "s" is not stay, "s" is search. And interestingly enough 5 on the keypad is not stay either, but is (at least in the way the gtk client was defaltly configured for me) brace

Vi is pretty good for coding, vim is better.
But nothing can beat good ol' ed.

Don't get me wrong. I have linux boxes and I use Sun V440s and V880s at work. But for the normal person, using the VI cursor keys is cryptic. WOW! how about yui hjk nm, or something. It's bad enough on the Sun Boxes they changed the CTRL and CAP LOCK keys. Hahaha..
