I am about to release WorldView v.1.0.0. (see also http://www.metalforge.net/cfmb/viewtopic.php?t=960)
but before doing so, i need some help regarding 'legal issues': how and where to mention it's licence (GPL), copyrights and other things i never knew about?
If you have suggestions, please post them here or sent me a PM
There are by the way three things to release:
- WorldView itself (script and images for navigation only)
- script to create the images WorldView needs (includes 900 small images to create worldmap)
- set of images for use with WorldView (todays cvs)
As soon as i added some licency stuff to the 'packages', i can release them.

The creative commons license isn't designed for code, it is designed for music/film/images etc.
Whilst the images that the worldmbap view display might qualify as such, they are a derived work of the arch files.
If these are GPL then the map images must be (by my reading thereof, but IANAL), if not then it isn't clear that such an image can be published.
If they are under something like the artistic license, then claiming authorship (which licensing may count as) may be in violation thereof.
In summary, give up on the legal crap, it is too much effort to deal with.
