problem starting

i am hoping to join, but when choosing a server, I have hit a problem.

It can not connect to Metaserver.

The command window says...

"Unable to open ./sound) - will use built-in defaults
can't connect to Metaserver: No such file or directory"

what do I do?

In order to play, you need the client. Follow the steps here:

The metaserver is currently down. So you need to manually enter the server's IP in the command line, then hit 'enter', it should connect.

Check http://www.metalforge.net/metaserver/ for a list.
