reading the docs, phys+fire damages against a fire immune creature = 0 damage (maybe it have changed to 1/2 dam)
so, rapid phys damages is sometimes usefull... just try with a demon to see the difference

Not from my experiance (though it might have been as you describe in the past), as my claws (with all dragon bonuses) can kill demons very easily even though the demon has +100 fire resist

i still recommand to level up both skills.
i remember when i tried to kill my firts dreads, karate was the best way i found...

I think using a higher level charector is better. :D
