That doesnt mean we can make CF more dynamic, expanisve, and imaginative. I think myself that the weather code needs some clean up, and perhaps more weather-like functions. E.G. lightning, acid rain, tornadoes. If you make CF more of a globe like world, imagine the fun you dould have with tsunamis and cyclones!

Well yeah, one of the advantages of moore's law is that crossfire always has plenty of room for shiney features since large parts of the game were written when pentium I's were considered good.
This does however mean that certain decisions do not make sense anymore, eg back then most OSs had such dire thread support that map loading being multi-threaded probably didn't make as much sense as it does today.
If I knew how to write threaded stuff, then I would change this, but I don't.
I want to have el nino modeled also, and urban heat islands (in fact that could be a nice hack to get past the snow in cities thing).
