this is roughly the case now, you have somewhere above 50% chance with an uncursed cauldron and reasonable (ie not -20) luck of making philosophical items successfully around level 5-ish, the safest one is philosophical oil, because the ingredients string length is used as a multiplier in determining ill effects from the spell.Aaron wrote: you should only have to study untill lvl 5 before you can have about 75% chance of sucess for the simple recipies.
it is about 2x, depending on what you make, what you would suggest would be a huge income. Remember that you can multiply quantities if you need more money.Aaron wrote: these are about 5x more expensive than the base itmes, enough to get more supplies and your own cauldron, but not hge income.
less for supplies, make less money. i guess that 2x is more reasonable, but still a acceptable profit. also +1 and over cauldrons should be more readily availible. i "aquire" a couple +2 cauldrons, but have never seen anything like the +4 causldrons suggested in the spoiler for newbie alch. i believe one person found a +4 cauldron, but ive never seen it. and with either alchemy, sorcery, or smithery, the ability to make enchanted cauldrons.
point.
they should be more common.
the guest, jewlyer is for making rings and aumlets.
but yea, when the guide tells you to find an impossible cauldron, what the hell? i think it said for newbies, try to get a cauldron with an enchantment over +4. to the older gamers: have you ever seen/have a cauldron higher than +4???

have you ever found anything with an enchantment > +4 (except for artificial items?)Aaron wrote: but yea, when the guide tells you to find an impossible cauldron, what the hell? i think it said for newbies, try to get a cauldron with an enchantment over +4. to the older gamers: have you ever seen/have a cauldron higher than +4???
As far as i know, you'll never find a cauldron +5 (or better)
Bibendi ergo sum
or rather: sum ergo bibendi

I use a +2 cauldron for alch. I haven't really been looking too much, but I haven't even seen +3 and +4 cauldrons (though I know of them from palan). But not even Palan, the great alchemist of MF has saw higher than +4.
Currently each +1 on a cauldron effectively makes you alch lvl count as being 25% higher (+1 is 125% alch level, +2 is 150%, +3 is 175%, and +4 is 200% normal alch level), in addition to reducing the danger factor of failing as well (yes I checked to code for this)
(On a side note, my +2 cauldron was very expensive... but still well worth it)
