Yes, theres a lot of topics on fixing alchemy, but everyone overlooked all the other similar skills such as smithing, jewlery, and cooking. I would also like to propose a new system that uses AI for these.
But, first ill go over the punishments for failure to create a item. Has anyone ever cookid anything? if you mess up, the worst you can do is set wthe ingredients on fire. monsters will not pour forth from your stove/fireplace if you dont have baking soda in you recipie. there should be no fatal penalties from failed cooking spells, which should only go as far as to destroy the cauldron and/or the ingredients. same with the other skills except alchemy, which is an exception. the worst that could result from smithery is burns, cuts, or having a weapon enchant wrong (think dancing chaos swords+99). same priciple for enchanting armour. NON-FATAL!!!
(I got to go right now, but ill finish this post in 2 hours when i get home...)

but i think a lvl 115ish chaos sword with +99 enchant will kill most people, and probably give casper a hard time, if not fatal. but i meant that the sword would come alive if you fail horribly while trying to heavily enchant something powerful. But i still dont think demons should come rushing out of your sword. the problem is how do they get in there in the first place?
