Actually I don't think it has changed much.. When I end up cleaning up after my summoned pets, there is plenty of items that are worth "something".. It has always been a cheap way of making money, safe, yes, fun, no.. Those who choose to do this are only taking away from their own fun..

Well, that is probably their (summoned pets) intended use. :D

Some elementals are more effective against monsters then others. I also admit, some elementals are ineffective against certain monsters.

Funny! Really.. since there is plenty of stuff to sell, one "easy" way is no better than other.. There is a place in scorn where you can make 1kpp in 1 reset, without killing anything.. not a bug, just sell furniture and such..

Basically any class/race can learn any other classes/races skills/spells (with minor restrictions) so everyone ends up being the same class/race..

leaf wrote: Not like someone having more pp than you will prevent you from getting something.. If there was a barter system.. people doing auctions and such.. well that'd be a different story..

They can purchease the desired item and you'll have to wait for the map to reset. A stretch I know, but think of the Hero Ring in Lake Country.

There is nothing stopping people from conducting auctions. But, there is really nothing in place right now to make auctions easier, either.
I understand.. but how many people actually care? I mean, if I don't get it in this reset, I'll get it in the next...

Not quite sure I follow you on this part. I don't know what you are referring to in my response - and you have my quote, misquoted.

We were talking about people making pp through summon-pets, and how that money can be used to get some item from a store (ring in lake country).. I was saying that the item is not unique, and at some point it has to respawn, therefore if I get the item now with the money I made from summon pets, someone can get it later with other money..

1) Summon pets has a delay associated with it (new server)
2) Summoned pets 50% of time don't leave any useful items, 50% of what's left they leave cursed items, and 50% of that they leave items hardly worth the trouble..

So... making money of summoned pets is not that good of an idea, and hardly worth the trouble... IMHO :)

I've not played crossfire in a while, but I used to first detect curse on the items, then sell all cursed items and after that identify the rest and sell them. That way I could get some money from the cursed items too. Not that I bothered to create pets to get the cursed items, but perhaps someone does? :-)

I don't think pets drop much any more. I've never gotten anything except a few scrolls and some arrows and bolts. Only one other summon I know has something else. The serpentman carrys two or three gold, but is rare enough not to matter.

the only usefull drops from pets are bodyparts for dragons/money.

if sb code a nodrop system, don't forget some pets take up from the floor all they can and use it, and I like to get this stuff back.

As far as I know, pets are already not dropping anything from themselves, but those that do carry things do drop them again. I've never gotten a pet to use things before, but I have heard of aggravated vampires banishing people with rods.

Yes, the behaviour of summon pet monster was fixed in the 18 months since this thread started, the orignal problem has long since been fixed, now everyone abuses other things instead :)

Yeah, casper went and fixed that one on you too...

Maybe this is the easiest way to find game balance issues and exploits to fix, just monitor everything Bort does....
