But what if someone doesn't want to have the patch implemented.
Adding an extra patch script into configure is easy to add, so it patches the file. I think some people like high level rods working...

And therefore naturally some admins would too, so they should have the option of not using the patch's behavoir

if you simply add the value 110 in the configuration file, everyone is able to use lvl 110 rods. problem solved .

Of course this still doesn't solve my initial problem, which is how to stop it segfaulting
