Something I miss coming from playing ADOM, is the option to have a random race and/or class. However if this was introduced to Crossfire then the procedure for allocating primary stats could also have to change - either allocate the numbers in a random order, or have the chance to swap them after finding your race and class.

Anyway, I'm not sure how easy it would be to put into the game, but it would be a useful feature for people like me who can't decide or don't really mind what they play as :D
Adapt and overcome...

Well, it /could/ be done right now with a bot, get it to login with a new username and password specified in the script, take the default stats, hit next race a random number of times, and then go down 2(* a random number of squares ) in the class selection room, then go either right or left.

Interesting challenge is to make the bot find a savebed, so that the player can connect as the newly generated character. That is distinctly non-trivial...

even more interesting is how to get that bot gain some xp - a safebed is not that much of a problem

More interesting still is how to make that bot that is trying to gain xp kill itself

by the way, it is sufficient to have that bot disconnect after choosing a race and a profession. Next time you log in, you'll find yourself somewhere in nexus, i think

I think that if it hasn't been 10 minutes, the character won't have been saved....

I though 'save' saves you to disk, until you type 'quit'.

What about the stats though, because they get allocated in descending order which may not be useful depending on which class you get. But I guess its also possible to swap random stats a random number of times?
