crossfire -detach (had to pass &) - 1.7.0

Post by yerp »

It could be because I am running under openssh (dedicated server has no keyboard..so ssh is easier).

Now, when I ran (as root over ssh - ooh the security risks...) the crossfire server with crossfire -detach It hung, so I waited for it to finish whatever it was doing. No return, so I swapped shells and ssh'ed into it again and found it to be actively running as if nothing was wrong. second I HUP'd it, the original terminal I ran crossfire -detach on sprung back to life.

So, I then tried: crossfire -detach & and I had a free shell.

(I discovered this after I wrote some boot scripts for the private dedicated server) If this is topic has already been started please let me know.

You can always use the crossloop script to run the server - it will restart if it crashes and logs each session to boot.

Question about crossloop, if the shutdown command is used, does it break out of the loop?
