i need help installing

yeah i have downloaded :crossfire-client-windows-2004-09-12
crossfire-bigworld-2004-09-26
crossfire-server-2005-01-08

but i dont understand how 2 make this game work, and how 2 join other ppl's servers. the game has said something about GTK or something but i dont get that, and when i click on crossfire prog if says it has a error and missing some pugins or something.

so yeah if anyone could give me a step by step guide for dummies on how 2 install id b gratful, because i dont understand there guide

You need to get the GTK runtime environment and install that, then install crossfire-client, AFAIK GTK isn't bundled with the client yet (don't pay much attention to the windows builds personally). Doubtless one of our windows users will come along and correct me shortly.

crossfire-bigworld is the maps, not needed to play the game, but useful for cheating when you are stuck on a map

crossfire-server is the server, unless you want to run your own server, you don't need this.
