depends, what is wrong with it?mikeeusa22 wrote:Dunno if I can, do places fix em anymore or do they just replace parts?
oh, well. the manufacturer replaces, if you go to the electronic shop around the corner, they might be able to fix it.
And if it is an easy defect, you might be able to fix it yourself, if you're handy

I guess if the only way to fix it is to replace a component then that's what they will do. Check you warranty you might still be able to do it for free. On the other hand if the problem is small then they'd probably take a big hammer, hit it couple of times and it will all start magically workingmikeeusa22 wrote:Dunno if I can, do places fix em anymore or do they just replace parts?

Couldn\'t they just solder it? Or are peeps who actually fix things only to be found in 3rd world countries :/. The thing is I don\'t want to loose my data, I have new maps and stuff on that box; thus I can\'t send it to the makers to fix it.Casper wrote:From your problem description your power supply socket is lose. Usually you will need to get the same people who made your laptop to fix it, although some other companies fix laptops, but they usually overcharge as it is difficult for them to get hold of the right parts.
(Btw: hey ho text client lets go!)
here, where i live (the netherlands, far from third world) there are many ppl who are able to fix it. Some are even professionals. there is a company specialized in repairing old(er) computers, laptops, printers and such.
They are usually MUCH cheaper than the manufacturer, for they try to FIX it, and not replace the item.
If its really just a lose connector, it would be an easy repair, you just have to find such a company in your neighbourhood

Learn how to repair it yourself. Take it apart and look for loose connectors and cold solder joints.
