Connection loss reliability
Overall, I find that the client is rather poor at dealing with a loss of connection, it generally just sits there, but even if nothing more can be done on the server/protocol end to improve such loss of connections, the client should at least notify you that it has lost the connection for the moment. (what i'm rerfering to is'nt like the TCP connection properly closing, it's like when one's wireless internet connection cuts out) Often I don't know of my internet connection just cut out, or if I got paralized.
make sure you have resist paralyse +100, then you can be 100% sure its your connection
ok, serious, i (almost) never have troubles with my wireless conection. It's just accidently the connection to the isp drops
another serious thing: if the connection failed, for some reason - dropped or just bad lag - all animations stop working (this might be an indication!)

Bibendi ergo sum
or rather: sum ergo bibendi
or rather: sum ergo bibendi
Often I do, and therefore know that's it's either that it's either really bad lag of a loss of connectionMith wrote:make sure you have resist paralyse +100, then you can be 100% sure its your connection
Actually it's the same with me, it's the isp that always does it to me and usually not the wireless, but it tends to happen at least once per day when I'm in the middle of something. I was just using wireless as an example because both losses of connection are the same as far as the client is conserned.Mith wrote:ok, serious, i (almost) never have troubles with my wireless conection. True, but I'm not always somewhere where the tiles are animated, and I'd like it if the client had some visual indicator of if it seems to have lost connection, because currently I have to go to all the trouble of starting up my web browser or something to know for sure if it's the connection (in which case, a relase and renew on my router fixes it).Mith wrote:another serious thing: if the connection failed, for some reason - dropped or just bad lag - all animations stop working (this might be an indication!)
