How to make Magic Items?

Post by One Salient Oversight »

After being on CF for a few weeks I am loving it. Very well made and quite addictive.

I've now begun to create my own magic items but I've only been able to scratch the surface. Is there some detailed "How to" guide that someone has made? ie How to make a +3 Broadsword with +50 Fire Resistance (not what I'm trying to make!).

The information given at the official site is very sketchy at best. How, for example, can you make armour with a +50 fire resistance? There is no "Prepare Armour" scroll. Do you use "prepare weapon" even though it is armour you are trying to enchant? How do I make a cloak of regeneration +3? These are the things I would like to explore.

The only way to create or acquire items that grant attack type resistances (ex: +50 fire resistance) is through creating an item via alchemy or in some cases the other skills such as blacksmithing, woodsman, etc.

At this time (not even sure if a plan is in place to allow this in the future either..) there are no scrolls which let you add ability enhancements (ex: str +1 or regeneration +3) or attack type resistances (ex: resist fire +30) to armour.

The only enhancements that can be done on armour are the pluses (+1, +2, etc.)

You can apply your weapon and pray on some alters of diffrent fake evil pagan cults and get more attack types.

For instance I have a double headed war axe which does 315 damage and has death as an attack type (prayed on a evil pagan alter). My server allows large enhancements (MLAB: cat2.dynu.ca). Such is insanely expensive and very difficult to find scrolls for tho :). Also they get quite heavy...
