Problem with big-worldmap and server.

Post by guestfox »

Hello all, I'm new to Crossfire. I've searched for the answer but so far I haven't found one. I downloaded and compiled the linux crossfire server from CVS and did the same for the maps-bigworld. I've already renamed the maps-bigworld to maps in the crossfire server directory. However, whenever I or anyone else connects to the server it complains that /usr/crossfire/var/maps/city/city doesn't exist Any ideas anyone?

Thanks!

Maps should be in <crossfire server>/share/maps, not straight in the main server directory, i think

at my localhost, crossfire is in /usr/share/games/crossfire

the maps are in /usr/share/games/crossfire/maps

temporary stuff, player files, hiscore and such are in /var/games/crossfire

this is debian's setup

Thanks! I'll try that!

Thanks Mith/Ryo!

I was somewhat confused by the documentation, I guess I've been too tired to see the solution for myself. I'll try putting the maps in the correct directory under /share. I'll post again to let you know if that fixed it or not.

Thanks a million!
