Discussion on new dragon focus and other aspects

Well, since many, including me, have a nice huge reistance naturally to magic, yet don't get the title. what gives?

looking back it seems my last post was unclear.

I was thinking of one quest with 4 parts to it.

Each part being hard (maybe not WDSM hard but still difficult)
Each part in a different style
Each part providing a 'raw essence of ...' or something similar

The four parts combining to create a magic foci, that would change metabolism to magic

What I /wasn't/ thinking of was removing the foci shop in the dragon guild

Ok as I am not a dragon here I can only speculate at dragon mentality/insanity, but I think woo is thinking more of a title change rather then focus change. I.E. he doesnt start running around with weaponmagic claws, magic breath and ... Iunno... magic something or other, but gets the title Woo the legendary magic dragon, so he can be like his idol, Puff the magic dragon.

I'd like weapon magic attack claws. magic breath? what would that be? weapon-magic claws would work, though

Bort that was the point of my post more or less is, what would the other things be, and besides that, dragons are already considered overpowered for a reason. They aint gonna be given more.

speak for yourself. With the sluggish speed my dragon has to deal with, you run over me with no pain. I've seen dragons that have been considered "too powerful" be proven that they are weak against a humaniod. You yourself are no exception, valderan. I've seen you run over dragons who have been higher level than you. If dragons are allowed to get magic resistance galore, they should at least get credit with a title and maybe claws. Just give a humaniod a perfect set of equipment, and they can run over pretty much everything. Dragons are overpowered in some catagories, yes, but underpowered severely in others. No balance. You complained yourself about wraiths being banished. You want to change that.
Well, I want to change this, and give credit for dragons who work on magic resistance, and have nothing to show for it.

You get your resist, which we humanoids with our perfect set of equipment as you so call it have to work hard towards getting, and then we have to sacrifice other resists for this resist and that resist. And I don't see you getting run over by monsters, which is a frequent problem in my case, I especially dont see pixies destroying you, while that is also a frequent problem. There is a reason humanoids can "run over" dragons, thats because we use the proper items to do it. Maybe if you as a dragon used different abilities/magic you wouldnt have such a big problem with it. And you wouldnt have to work terribly hard for your magic claws if that were decided, while every decent piece of humanoid equipment takes hard work to acquire.

Not looking for a war here guys, but yes - i was only referring to the Magic dragon as a cosmeic change - maybe a difficult quest to bestow the title after the user has proved their resistance to all 4 elements like was suggested. It's an intersting idea.

No I don't think any power needs to be added as a results but something I do wonder, what level of magic dragon are you? If a Legendary Poison Dragon such as myself converted would I become a Legendary Magic Dragon or would I drop to Ancient Magic Dragon based on my resistance to magic?

I figure you would drop to Ancient, as you would have "changed" focuses to magic and would thus no longer be a Legendary dragon of fire.

Instead of thinking up complicated ideas that will take months to do, and probably no one will ever do, why not make a simple code change to the server:

IF dragon fire resist > 90
AND dragon cold resist > 90
AND dragon poison resist > 90
AND dragon electric resist > 90
AND dragon magic resist > 90
THEN title command sets $foo IN "the Legendary $foo Dragon"

This way cosmetic change described would become a reality, and there indeed could be a Legendary Magic Dragon.
